The Entertainer grew out of his own experience with self-doubt, the weight of the gap between who you present and who you actually are. He wanted to make something quiet enough to be honest.
It is his debut short. It stars Lance Roberts, whose performance as Gil Harrod anchors every frame, alongside André De Shields, one of the most decorated artists in American theater history. It screened at Urbanworld, Pan African, Chelsea, and New Hope film festivals. It is now on Amazon Prime Video.

The Entertainer began as a question: what does a man lose when the version of himself he performs for the world stops matching who he actually is?
